Busy week with two District Teacher of the Year, Patriot' Pen, Law Enforcement Officer and Quilts of Valor presentations as well as a VA Clinic Vaccination Support event. Once again, well done. Our next Post meeting will be on March 13th, both face-to-face and virtual. Meeting starts at 0930 hours with a joint meeting. Hope you can attend.
I continue to be amazed at the level of volunteerism that our post demonstrates in the community. This week, we distributed water and snacks to the staff and patients at the Newnan VA Clinic during their weekly COVID Vaccination drive-thru, presented one of our local Law Enforcement Officers their VFW Public Safety Award and collected and delivered 98 jars of peanut butter and 13 jars of jelly to Bridging the Gap.
The Coweta Veterans Club is closed until New Years Eve due to a positive, non-symptomatic COVID case.
Our post has been blessed to be able to partner with our local Homestead Hospice organization. This organization arranges for the Final Salute to our Veterans who are in hospice and we are honored to be able to provide that support. Here are several other programs that are being sponsored by Homestead Hospice.
Prior to our monthly meeting yesterday, the sons of our late comrade Charles Kennedy presented me a message from their dad. His son informed me that the message was written on the inside cover of a notebook that they recently uncovered. The title of the message is "We are the Forgotten," and want to share it with you now.
