![]() U.S. Air Force - Life Member Jesse Couch Howard was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 21, 1946. He was one of three children born to the late Jesse Couch Howard: Sr. and Ethlyn Lanette Mitchell Howard, Since having two guys in the same family with the same name could be confusing, the younger one came to be known as "Jake". Jake would serve in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War. In 1987 Jake and his wife Eveann made the decision to move their family to Newnan from Jacksonville, Florida. Jake had an affinity for anything mechanical and loved the challenge of “fixing any and everything". This meshed seamlessly with Ills career choice and he was employed as an electronics technician for Video Jet. Jake was not a one-dimensional person by any means. His strong, right brained self was most creative. He and Eveann enjoyed collaborating on musical projects and served for years in the choir of their church, Jake's attention to detail made him a natural for his love of painting. Having served in the military, he was keenly aware of the support needed by returning service men. He faithfully supported the VFW Post 2667 in Newnan and their programs that benefited students in high school and their educational projects. During their retirement years Jake and Eveann enjoyed doing background for the film industry in Georgia. Jake was dedicated to his family and his faithful wife of 35 years, Eveann Moore Howard. He was adored by his sisters, Trudy Howard Wray and Ethlyn Howard Hindman. He embraced being a father figure to Theresa a. (and Byron) Pullin and Christine E. (and Chris) McCullough. He quickly earned the respect of the grandchildren Staff Sergeant Emily McCullough, Nicholas McCullough and Hannah Pullin. Jake will long be remembered for his many talents, for sure, but most importantly for the exemplary life he led as a husband, father figure, grandfather: caring sibling and servant of his nation. Jake Howard's life of service and dedication will be honored in a service of celebration and thanksgiving for all his contributions to his friends and family. The service will be an event of Saturday, January 18: 2020 in the Chapel at M6Koon 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. The service will be led by his longtime friend and former pastor, Dr. Joel E. Richardson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Comments are closed.
