Robert William "Bill" Amis, 84, of Newnan, Ga., died Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at Newnan Hospital. Mr. Amis was born May 2, 1918 in Newnan. He was retired and had worked as a foreman for Delta Airlines in hydraulic maintenance. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a master sergeant. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Newnan, the Voice of Experience Choir and of Kiwanis. The family was receiving friends Thursday, Sept. 19 from 7-9 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home. A funeral will be at First Baptist Church of Newnan Friday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. Dr. Gene Tyre and Rev. Don Helms will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road, Newnan. Pallbearers will be men from the Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Amis of Newnan; daughter, Alicia Ann Amis; sons, Harvey Miller Amis and Robert William Amis Jr.; brother, Donald Amis; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
